Yeah, you will get flamed because these posts how up every other day. Its a drivers race, as always. The faster car doesnt always win. As far as timed E/Ts, the GSX, properly driven and healthy running, stock should be in the mid-high 14s with no problem. The VR6 is a good race against the maxima time wise.

your max should be running around a 15.6 . . that would be my estimate. . . remember, the faster time doesnt win at the drag strip, its the person who crosses the line first - if you have a good R/T and your friend in the VR6 has a bad R/T (reaction time), your chances of winning are greatly increased. As for the times of the VR6 97 Jetta and the GSX Eclipse, if you dont wanna just wait for the race, you could go on VWvortex, or clubDSM (perhaps its not club DSM, but the forums for Eclipses) and look up the times people ran with similar cars, compare that with the 15.4 - 15.7 you should be running and then you should have a good idea of whats gonna happen.

I have a lot of encounters with VR6's for some reason. I've never had one come close to my 5sp on the road or highway. CAI + full exhaust.
