Level 10 or MobileTek VB

i was thinking about getting a VB mod. i was wondering if it really is worth it and which company is better, level 10 or mobiletek. the level 10 is around 400 i think and the mobiletek is 600 or so. what makes the mobiletek better or cost more? and of course this is for an auto.

Maximum Tuning is good from what I hear. They have their VB's in stages. From stage 1 to stage 3 or 4 I think. I have an auto, and when I was going to go with the VB mod I asked around the same question and everyone told me to go to maximum tuning, that they are very good. That is who I am going to, to get my 5 speed conversion done. By the way thats why I decided not to go with the VB Mod. Before I decided to go with the 5 speed conv. I checked about have a bullet proof tranny installed because of all of the things I am planning on doing to my car and I have checked around about those and people told me that the bullet proof trannies that Level 10 build are poor and not well built at all. They are supposed to hold up under extreme driving and high PSI, and people have told me that they broke at like 7, 8, and 9 PSI. People have also told me that they dont even actually bullet proof the trannies, they just replace the old stock parts of the tranny with regular new pieces. So maybe that will tell you something about Level 10 and maybe that will help you make your decision.

can someone post link to Maximumtuning? I tried a link someone sent me, but it said incorrect. Also Mobiltek so far has answered my question, as far as customer service. There offering already done cores for $400 shipped before the year is over. my 2 cents

www.Maximumtuning.net

Also, I don't think Level 10 has VB mods. I think they just do bullet proff transmissions for about $2500. But I may be wrong.

I have stage 2(street/strip) and I think it was well worth it. The 1-2 shift is really quick. 2-3 not too much different than stock, but I think all VBs are that way. It made my auto a lot more fun.

Wierd, I hear that from time to time. Personally, my 1-2 shift is almost instant and I break the tires lose even at partial throttle. Yoko AVS ES100 17" tires too. My 2-3 shift is exactly the same... freakin awesome. I shift into 3rd at 80 mph and it instantly, crispy, firmly, shifts into the next gear.

I absolutely love my VB mod. It is my best mod to date. As far as having fun. It only made me about 1 tenth faster in the 1/4 mile. But I love every minute that I drive my car. I've had this mod for one full year and it's not getting old ONE BIT.

BTW, I have stage 2 Maximum Tuning VB mod. Stage 2 is what everyone gets unless they really want something different. If I would have gotten Stage 3, I don't see it making my 1/4 mile time ANY better. It will just be a REALLY harsh shift that some guys doing more than 400hp might need.

There is nothing wrong with Don at Mobiletek. He'll get it done, and he's a bit hard to get ahold of, but he does good work. He does the work on the side, thus he's hard to get in touch with. If you decide to use him, just shoot him an email. He'll respond.

Until he gets your money, then he is a lot harder to get in contact with.

Read the bad dealer experiences.

Really? Maybe so. I'm fortunate enough that he lives about an hour away. I get same day service.

Don Cooper is a THIEF. Many people up here still are trying to get their money back for a service never rendered.

I myself have a story where I bought a VB mod from another member when Don convince him that it was his tranny making it slip. So, I bought that VB mod thinking it was his tranny. Well, I install it and my tranny slips. So I contact Don and he says my tranny is broken too. It's BS. We argued for a long time. He offered to fix the problem. He opens up my VB and finds NOTHING wrong with it. He replaced everything in it and ships it back to me assuring that he fixed the problem b/c he somehow tested it. I install it,... I still have that severe 4 second slip into 2nd gear.

I call up Jeff at Max Tuning... long story short, he fixed my problem when Don's stupid a$$ couldn't fix it. Maximum Tuning is the ONLY way I would go. If I ever hear about Don recalibrated another Maxima VB, I will have something to say about it.

Bottom line... Matt is Jeff's tranny technician and he REALLY knows what he is doing when it comes to Nissan trannies. I would actually consider getting a rebuilt tranny from him, even though I'm in Las Vegas... over 2500 miles away.
