i'm a bit confused here, which models came without the power trunk and lighted visor feature? mine is a '95gxe which i thought up till now was as basic as they came... (i mean the only option it had was floormats, i understand that you could get a bunch of other options for the gxe...)
Mine is a 97 GXE. I have power trunk release, floormats, lighted visors... I wonder if it's possible to get a copy of the window sticker that would have been on it when it was brand new.

Most of the options came grouped together in the security and convienece package, so for the most part you have everything or nothing. There is a post in the FAQ that tells the major option packages and what is in them

I bought mine used - one of those "certified pre-owned" kinda deals - but it came with no original paperwork.

You wanna see basic? You should see my car. 5-speed gxe. basically no options other than oem spoiler/aluminum wheel/exhaust chrome tip. The way I like it.

All Maximas came with most of the essentials. Most of this is from the 95, because that is the year of brochure that I have. The GXE security and convenience package was optional on the 95 GXE automatic only, the GXE manual could not get it. It offered 8 way power driver's seat, remote keyless entry system, power trunk release, security system, illuminated visor vanity mirrors, variable intermittent wipers, single chrome tipped exhaust finisher and H rated tires. The GXE manual could have no factory options per the brochure, except for CA emissions, and the GXE manual also did not have the fold down rear seat center armrest/trunk pass through that all other versions had. The GXE automatic, though could have ABS, S/R, Bose, and heated seats. The SE security and convenience was similar to the GXE, except for the tires and exhaust tip. I'm really surprised that SEs were built without it, since it seems like you get alot for $699, although I could live without. The GXE manual could be had for 19995 + 390 dest, GXE auto 21799 + 390, SE manual 21799 + 390, SE auto 22799 +390 and GLE 25139 +390. ABS 999, CA emissions 150, Bose 799, S/R 899, Sec and Conv 699, Cold weather 199, SE leather 1099. If I was buying new, I would have gone for a basic manual.

I didn't know that power trunk wasn't an option. I wish it had been elsewhere I pop it all the time trying to get stuff out of the side pockets.

My 98 GXE manual has the fold down rear seat center armrest/trunk pass through. The only thing I hate about my car is the chrome grille/trim/handles...which have all been changed since.
