i really feel bad for Bad97MaxSE. he posted hoping to get some answers about a tranny swap but got 3 full pages of bickering instead... though its funny as hell for the rest of us to read just settle down, all of you!

here's my useful input: 1 of my friends is involved in amature drag racing and i hang out with him a lot. what i see is that all the serious guys use 3spd and 4spd transmissions for drag racing... seems like they prefer fewer gears... of course most (i should probably say all) of those cars are RWD so that changes things quite a bit... but it seems to me fewer shifts are prefered for drag racing...

I think what everyone here is trying to say is that IT'S NOT WORTH IT. Just get a 5spd.

tranny

You guys need to stop arguing over girly **** and realize that 5 speed is the way to go man, why spend the money on a 6 speed transmission when i know all of us can find better mods to do with that money. Also i am not sure but i think the lancer evo8 beats the WRX sti becuase of the 5 speed tranny in the lancer becuz you can shift faster and the WRX sti has more considerably more horsepower. Thats what i've heard. Hey i love skylines more than anything and SXN just becuz you know engine codes doesn't mean you know jack about skylines. Don't be a pompus guy and spit out engine codes for us to show you know what your talking about. I want to trouble but you know theres no reason to bash a guy for bein new If anything you should be happy that he's here becuase when it comes to enjoying your maxima the more the merrier.

People stopped arguing yesterday so stop bringing it back. Thanks for trying to have my side but it isn't needed. SXN, BLKMAX95C and I are best buds now. And no the EVO8 doesn't beat the STI in straight acceleration.

i don't care who you little girls are friends with you locked up three pages with bickering, don't get ****ed at me for making a comment. My buddy has a lancer evo8 and my other buddy has a wrx sti and i have heard many an arguement between them and i believe your wrong but i am not totally sure. Do you know a reliable place to get 0-60 times becuase i don't and i would believe you much more with a little backup. Also the wrx sti can be setup to displace torque anywhere from 30 front 70 back to 50 front 50 back. The evo comes with 70 percent to the back wheels and 30 percent up front from factory. Also the EVO8 has something called a "bleeder valve or a drip valve" that stops from dropping the clutch. which makes a launching much harder
