Need advice on matching 3 coat paint (97 pearl white)
Need advice on matching 3 coat paint (97 pearl white)
I got a in a fender bender during last snow storm. I stopped, he didn't. At least his 2 week old Camry looks worse.
Anyway, I am concerned that paint will never match factory paint even if I take it to the best shop.
Has anyone had any experience or problem getting shop to match the factory 3 coat 1997 arctic pearl white paint on their Max in one area on car? If so, please reply.
Thanks.

Check it out, I got a fender bender on new years eve, its sucked man. I had a nice sized dent, with the scratches and black paint all worked into my dent. I took it to a well known Auto body shop. THey were gonna charge me $600 for the fix, but they told me they had a guy who does work on the side, and was certified with them. So I met the guy and he told me he'd charge me $250 fixed and painted, plus $50 for the altezza painted. So I took it, from what he told me, they kinda of had to paint both doors, so it would match. ( I had some nasty scratches on the other door), It looks like new, this guy did a badazz job, they only difference I say you can see is the paint from the altezza's (alittle bit brighter) otherwise he matched the paint with the factory paint very well. Good luck
Do you have the tri-coat pearl white paint on yours?

Pearl colors are matched with the pearl coat. It's the amount of pearl on the car that makes the match. Sometimes two coats is enough and sometimes 3 or 4 coats may be needed to get the match. A good paint guy can match and blend the adjacent panel so you don't have any panel to panel color differences.
Talk to the shop and stress that your concerned with the pearl color match, then let them do their job and hopefully you'll be a satisfied customer.

I a lady hit my rear driver's side quarter and the body shop did an amazing jobof matching the color. I know that they blended the rear door to get the two as close as possible. I can't tell that the panel was repainted. The shop I took my car to does work on higher end cars and you can tell. They even wash and clean up the car after they painted it.
