Possible Problem. Help is apreciated
Ok so yesterday I was driving from school. The temperature wasn't bad, probably 60 degrees fareingheit. I was driving my 1998 Maxima GXE Auto. When I got onto the freeway my gas (accelerator) was feeling sluggish and a bit jerky. It also seemed to be a bit slow in acceleration. I was going 65-75 mph. After about 5 miles, the jerkiness stopped and it was smoothe as usual, so I thought it might be dirt. The problem is that the same thing happened today. The weird thing is it happened when I was driving from school to home. My friend said I should wait till my tank empties and fill it up with premium and ask the chevron guys for some techron to clean the fuel injector. Any opinions? Thanks

ahh, what gas do you use now? Our cars are designed for premium you know. I would add some octane booster if you have something lower then 91 (but I personally always have 93 in my car).
Your car is going to hate you if you drive on ****ty gas. But if you use Premium all the time I would say take it to Autozone or dealer and get the computer checked you might have a faulty coil

Yeah that's your problem. It's okay you are a newbie. Hopefully you didn't screw up any of your sensors or anything. And that little jerking was misfiring I believe. Go and get some octane booster and put it in your tank and next time fill it up with premium only!!! That's what it says on the little gas tank flap

I doubt that using 89 would make his car jumpy, unless that is the only gas his car has ever seen, it would make the engine ping like no other, but I wouldn't think that it would make that big of a difference.

Do you have a Knock Sensor bypass? If not, running low octane should not make your car jumpy. Sluggish? Yes.
But def use the premium and the injector cleaner. You get a bit better mileage with it anyways. It is the cheapest place to start. Next, if you are into ruling out cheap or free fixes, I would look at the battery teminals (make sure they are clean), and the fuel filter. After that, the fuel pump or the injectors may be a point of interest. A bad potentiometer on your throttle position sensor... and a hundered other things unfortunately.
Have you checked for ghost codes on your ECU? That might give you a clue as well.
Good luck.
