oil seperator?

I'v read on this site:
http://www.motorvate.ca/mvp.php/517
that the resonator box on the stock intake is also a "oil seperator"

My question is, does this box really collect or seperate the oil from the air in the breather lines? and if i replace this box w/ my aftermarket intake, will the oil harm performance if it gets into the TB?

I'm goen to clean my TB as soon as it get above freezing in upstate NY

i think its not the intake box, but the accordion section between the MAF and the throttle body.
