The anti-drain back valve in the oil filter has nothing to do with starting whatsoever. The oil filter is virtually empty an hour after you turn your car off.

And once again to the people experiencing a stiff shifter in the cold, switch to synthetic tranny fluid and you'll be fine, it doesn't solidify in cold weather like conventional tranny fluid.

[QUOTE=izzydig]Winterize the max?

5-30W, Castrol GTX for cheap motor oil. Mobil-1 Synthetic if you don't mind the extra money. Our factory manual calls for 5-30W anyway.

You can get a complete oil change at Walmart with Castrol Syntec for $30. If it is good enuff for Brett Farve then it's good enuff for me (jk). I was using royal purple, but I switched to syntec. I have no oil issues at all.

I don't belive anyone said that once you switch to synthetic you shouldn't ever switch back. Im not sure why but it is something that I have always been told.

I chose those two types of oil based on the org's research and oil test results. Basically I read any oil is good enuff every 3-4K miles, but why not use the best? I used to use Mobil 1 ($4-5 a qt.), but after the max sprung a leak...I went to Castrol GTX for the price. Not going back to synthetic due to price. Believe it or not, I think the castrol syntec (is that a blend or full syn?) wasn't on the top 2 recommended oils...the regular dino castrol gtx was. my .02.

I know another way to keep yourself warm other than your car. Anyone know how to hook up the driver and passenger seats into Heated Seats? The cold winter sucks when your rear end is freezing while waiting for the car to warm up. Anyone have any instructions or the junk yard is the way to go.

buy heated seats, preferably from a junkyard

I had the same problem over the weekend and I couldn't even put the gears in at all I thought I had to get a new clutch and all but then I checked my clutch fluid reservoir and It was empty as soon as I put the fluid in it started to go in perfectly.
