Headlight Bulbs

I have to complain about my headlights. Currently, I have 9004 Silverstars. I like the color, but the lighting is somewhat crap. In rain, I cannot see a thing, almost as if my lights were off, and I a not sure what to do to correct this problem.

What are some better bulbs to try? I cannot afford HIDs..what about upgrading my wiring harness. Could I just use something like a 9005? Would that improve anything?

Silverstars or any tinted blue bulbs usually don't provide good lighting in those conditions. For that, you are just pretty much stuck with regular halogens or true HID. Or you can install a good pair of aftermarket fog lights in addition to your headlights. My 95 SE came with factory fogs and I have Silverstar H3's in them. I turn them on for added lighting in rainy nights and it suffices.

Perhaps upgraded headlight wire harness + over-wattage bulbs might be an improvement but I haven't tried that.

I have set of fog lights that came from Wal-Mart (Hey, I'm broke.)that work wonderfully and cost around $40. They are great for rain as I just used them tonight. It's bloody pouring outside.

For upgrading harnesses, which harness would you reccomend?

9005
9006
9007
H4
H7

And I'm not sure about this, but what do you think? http://www.prolightstar.com/lightbulbs/jklhidskit.html

I believe different bulb types require correct reflectors to dispurse the beams correctly. I'd stay with what came with the car, 9004. Upgrades for the 9004 would be your safest bet because the reflectors are made for that type of bulb and beam pattern. Projectors are totally different though.

Steering wheel question?

The steering wheel on my 95 SE is worn out, discolored, and have scratches all over it (previous owner's doing most likely). I am looking for a most cost effective way to restore it. I am leaning more towards keeping the airbags so aftermarket steering wheels are pretty much out of the question. So the question is, what have y'all done to your worn-out steering wheels? I saw this product online and was wondering if anyone has tried it. Any inputs are welcome.
