So does anyone know the size of the small bulbs in the gauge cluster and the climate controls? They'de be easy to change but if one bulb costs like $3 then it's really pointless.

I have done this...which light are you referring to? The light that comes on when you select an air-flow option/AC/re-circ?
Or the back lights?

The back lights can be any size, but the lights underneath the buttons are a *****.
Basically they are very thin, and there is no way your 5mm bulb will fit. Not to worry though, you can dremmel opposite sides of the LED until it is flat enough to work. I did it, and it works great. You need to get the thickness down by about 50%.

^"thickness down by about 50%" of the LED itself?

Correct. Think of it as flattening two opposing sides. Basically you are trying to put a thick round object into a thin rectangle...so you have to make the round object a thin rectangle =)

Nope, I only did it recently, but it's pretty bright, and pretty cool. I could get some pics up, but it wouldn't be until thursday night.
Obviosuly it depends on how bright an LED you purchased...mine are 5000 mcd so they are pretty friggen bright....but that's all I had lying around.

Thats cool, so all you gotta go is dremmel the sides of the led to make it rectangular, solder a resistor on, take the stock bulb out and solder the new one in? and also.... how do you get the dial out of the housing? that was the furthest i got when I took it apart, and I couldnt get it out.... It seems it has to come out before the circuit boards

Thanks alot

Be careful dremmeling the LED's, just don't touch any metal! =)
Oh and you don't have to solder a resistor on.

The dial was a pain in the butt to get out...it does have to come out first. Basically get some small pliers and apply pressure straight out, then using a screwdriver you want to get it off the clips that are holding it on. (you can get at some inside, some outside) Trial and error, just don't pull so hard you break it =)
