Who would win?????????

This is probably a dumb question but I just want to know...Since maximas with a JWT ECU have higher rev-limiters installed in them. They obviously go past 7k. They would spend more time at higher rpms. Thus picking up speed faster. Since technosquare and others do not have this ability to put on their ECUs. Who would you think would win, a stock maxima with a JWT ECU or a stock maxima with a TS ECU? And do you think it would be much of a difference?

Being able to rev more doesn't mean you're going to pick up speed faster. Every car has a specific shift point to get the best acceleration. Winding your car out to 8k or whatever isn't going to make you accelerate any faster unless you make power up there, which with a simple ECU and bolt ons upgrade, you DONT.

Completely stock other than the ecu? The extended rev limit doesn't help a stock Maxima any because of the drop off in power after 5500 rpm. I think some (Dave B?) are saying that a stock (or lightly modded) 4th gen Maxima is faster if shifted before redline, so just extending the redline won't help.

Stock for stock, other than the ECU upgrade, I think the TS would win, supposedly it has more aggressive timing. Obviously there are so many factors though... I guess if you put the ECU into the same car with the same driver and ran the 1/4 mile under the same conditions, it'd be a fairly accurate test, but the difference will be negligable I'd think.

Right, without the VI, the extended redline is useless. Since they both basically do the same thing, I think the race would pretty much be even. It looks like you've got a 97, so the JWT won't work as easily for you as 95-96 guys. I haven't heard that the TS ECU had more aggressive timing...and I think you can tell JWT to advance your timing even further if you want. It would be a drivers race.

Does the TS ECU do anything that the JWT doesn't?

Y won't you think that it would work as well in my car compared to 95-96?

I was under the impression that the JWT wasn't compatible with 97+ cars. Or maybe it is, but it will set off the CEL.

I understand that. I'm sorry i didn't mention that I have a 96 ECU ready to be modded. I'm just gonna put that in there (modded of course). The ECU works with my car. Just gonna have that stupid CEL. No biggy.

So what i'm getting is that only to really tell what ECU is better or faster, is if I have a VI?
