To each his own.

So because someone had amps and a sub you assume they abused thier car? I dont get it. In my previous car I had both and I took immaculate care of my car...

Ya, the 318ti is the hatchback and yes, it is really small (at least for me sitting in the back). Its got nice pickup and acceleration but its just too cramped inside.

Jeremy your the 10% exception. If the car has subs/amp its been driven by a younger person, regardless usually. I Buy from Daily driven normal people. I wouldnt even risk~ buying problems. espically any BMW probs

Dude sounds like you really want to do the trade go for it. As long as the car has a clean title do the trade first sign of any problems sell the sucker and get a newer better max!!

You are absolutely right...although...my friends is prolly the fastest NA 318ti (he's got a special M series version, they only made 300 in 94) Alot of upside with the beemer...but like others I'm just weary of people doing me favors...good luck with it Let us know how it turns out

just ask yourself "why is he offering this trade?"

he is getting something out of it.
I love BMW automobiles but i wouldn't put myself in the situation to spend serious $$$ in repairs.

but it is your decision and good luck with your choice.

secondly, you need to get some more info about this car from the guy. i hate used car dealers, and i hate used car dealers that sell rentals MORE. my maxima was a rental man, and all rental cars get treated like shit. also, you get the basic interior, and basically no options usually

BMW handles better then the Maxima. 4 Wheel independent suspension. They ride better as well.

BMW interrior will out last a Nissan, the leather is much better.

325 = 2.5L straight 6 and BMW 6's are one of the best engines built. It will last forever. We have a customer at our shop who had a 95 325 5 speed that had racked up over 350,000 miles. Aside from normal maintenance, nothing ever went wrong with the car aside from a clutch. He traded it in this past spring for a 5 series which he hopes to drive up past 500,000 miles in the next few years. He travels quite a bit and dirves everywhere.

Bottom line, the BMW is built solid. The chassis is much stronger then our Nissans. The engine and drive trane should last as long if not longer then our FWD setup.

Your trade UP is the same year with less mileage to a car thats built better then your Nissan.

Your Maxima is faster, but mods can help you out in that department and BMW is much more mod friendly then your Maxima is. There is a huge aftermarket support for BMW, including parts made by BMW for increased performance, looks and handling.

Don't pass up that deal.

As for the people telling you of major problems with BMW's, read the org and tell me that our Maxima's aren't a headache at times!

Yeah, right! How come everyone thinks that people in the auto business are nice and always trying to make deals that benefit the consumer and not themselves? That may have been the case in the late 1800's when horseless carriages were starting to appear, but c'mon now, it's 2004.

The only BMW I would get and know there are no mechanical or electrical problems would be a brand new one that stayed with me, because I would take care of that very well. You dont know how the other peson treated it

I told the guy I would let him know tomorrow on my decition. The title is clean, the BMW mechanic said everything was sound, looks good on the outside and inside, and its fun to drive.
BTW the guy isnt a used car dealer. He owns and operates this auto body shop.
Anyway, I apprecaite all the input on this topic. I will let you know the final outcome.
BTW, I dont think it looks ugly...

the dealer guy knows the max is well taken care of by this young enthusiast and it will be more reliable on the long run for the rental side of his business.
