Are max tranny and i30 tranny parts interchangable?

i will be getting a new tranny(5 speed), possibly a i30 because of the lsd, but i was woundering if i would be able to use i30 gears or maybe the syncronizers and put that into my tranny of do i have to use the whole set up one or the other, and where can i get the bullet proof tranny's, does that come witht the whole tranny or can u just get the gears and other parts that are in a tranny? thanx for ur help.

Yes...they're interchangeable.

They both use the same engine, tranny, etc. LSD was just thrown in here and there on Max's like the Canadian model and some *random* US ones...

"Bullet proof" is just a term used to describe a built tranny, meaning it's been, shall we say, "worked on" to allow it to handle more power. The factory LSD is a Viscious Limited Slip Differential (VLSD) which has it's good points and it's bad. It gets the basic point of LSD across, which is to keep both wheels spinning, but do a search on the internet on VLSD to get a better idea of it's weak points. Chances are the weak points won't concern you at all though. I wouldn't worry about it. Just know it's good

Not off hand, I don't know. I believe some of it has to do with cornering if I'm not mistaken...not that it really hurts your cornerning, I just remember something about cornering. VLSD has no major cons really, there are just better systems out there. Someone chime in and fill the rest in here, please.

As far as getting a "bulletproof" tranny for the Max, start with the Valve Body mod from one of the places that sells it. I forget at the moment the names of the places (someone else fill in here as well, please). But that's a good start. However, it will not allow the tranny to be "bulletproof" per say, it'll still probably need some custom work.

ok well i heard that the other better lsd have a better clutch in it, that catches preaty quick is the wheel does happen to slip, but i guess an i30 will be fine for now, so another thing u said about a valve body mod, i heard many people say that its only for an auto tranny so i didn't really pbother to get more info on that , so u can do a valve body on a 5 speed also?????
