I recently purchased a 95 SE. w/ 160,000 miles on it. Only mod to the car is a K&N Cone filter. It has been cold here in NY (about 20 degreees). The car sat for about 2 days, and when I started it last night, it took a while to start. It would only run if I had my foot on the gas pedal. If I took my foot off, it died. After it warmed up, it was starting ok. Anyone have a similar problem?

 

yeah, only when its cold, the reason is because its cold. when its cold ur oil turns to a friggen paste. theres no problem with ur max, just the cold weather, and i wish it would go away already!

 

I don't know about that.... Cold oil should not make a car stall out. It seems like an airflow problem, or something to that affect. Has anyone had problem with IAC valves or throttle body problems? It actually sounds like the motor is being choked for air.

 

Clean your TB and make sure you have 5w30 oil in there http://www.motorvate.ca/mvp.php/517

 

Thank you! I knew it had to be something in either the TB or IAC. I am going to clean both of them. Hopefully, this corrects the problem!
