VQ in Civic?
#3
Yeah I bet you could do it, but you might as well get an H22. It will fit much better and you won't have to spend as much to get it in. A hatch with an H22 is a damn killer

yeah I think it would be cheaper to put a b20 block with a built bottom end and b16 head and big turbo. VQ motor is a civic would be funny, but all that modifications you need to do, I mean I'm not even sure if the civic got enought room over there to put a VQ in. Plus it would be front heavy. Everytime you would step on the brakes it would fell like your back is off the grond, lol.
But then again they put a ford 5.0 or 5.7 racing motor in a focus, which they made RWD, so who knows.

Ever been in an H22 Civic hatch, going around corners it feels like the front end is going to dig into the pavement how bad the weight offset is vs. stock. Might be good for a drag car. I heard this one did mid-low 14's with intake and full exhaust with slipping clutch.

GSR b16
Yeah my buddy is running a GSR integra moter in his 94 civic hatchback.. He bought the motor for like 1300. Runs great. All stock motor and runs high 13's Best is a 13.6 and everage is 14 flat. H22 are not the way to go... They are a much slower engine then the b16's

BTW I know a Integra GSR with a REV Hard turbo, that was put on my Garage Kwai with alot of other mods running 7 psi only runs 13.4, so those motors are not as quick as they seam.

Ls/vtec does generate nice power gains but are prone to engine failure. There are many articles regarding that hybrid setup. Its mainly for a drag set up and not recommended for every day street use.

the h22/h23a1 boasts about 190 - 205ish HP from a non aspirated vtec 2.2L 4 banger.
the vq30 boasts about 190-215 depending on the year of the max, from a non aspirated 3.0L v6.
the h22/h23 is one of almost all honda owners' dreams to get under the hood, its very potent by far, and generally bolts up with a number of other trannys and shares some common mounts.
Putting a vq in a any honda in my eyes would be ridiculous, as you have so much more involved like now having to do major wiring for ecu, tranny, axles, mounts, etc... etc..., you're better off putting a h22 in and bolting up maybe the same civic tranny if it'll fit, or slap in a prelude/accord tranny(those are interchangeable). as far as pricing..
vq30 - $200-800 depends on where you go and who you kno.
h22/h23 $800-2000 depends on where you go also, and if ur getting an ecu/axles/tranny to go with it.
p.s. im an ex-accord racer... this used to be my blood.

Hey show maxima, its normally aspirated not non aspirated. Non aspirated would mean the engine isn't breathing at all meaning the car is off or did you design a new type of engine.
A friend of mine wants to do the H22A into an Integra but he is wishy washy. Evyday he wants to get something different. Today he wants a 240 that is for sale around here. And I thought this was maxima.org not ricevilleusa.com. I would much rather have a poop load of TQ at 3k instead of waiting for V-TEC to kick in just before redline.
