i really wish nissan would have had a recall for the coil packs on the 99's... 1999 coil packs are all pieces of junk

Have had 1 problem with one on my 99 with 92k miles...not a piece of junk.

The right bank's coils are different on different cars. As long as you get the correct type, it doesn't matter what year its from.

yeah they do have different coils for different banks of the block. Also from what I've heard they started using better coil packs as the replacements. I think the mechanic in the Nissan dealership told me that

Now I am confused,

EJJ is saying that the right banks coils are different on some cars

MZMTG is saying that they will work

Am I missing something, who is right. I know that the two sides are different, the guy has both sides...whats the deal?

Apparently 95-96 have good coil packs and after that they changed manufacturers and they suck ***** now.

The coil packs in the front and different from the coil packs in the back. That's what they're talking about.

If you want to change your front coil pack, you'll need to get a front coil pack from another car (the rear one won't fit the front )

So far (knock on wood) i havent been bitten by the coil pack problem (or knock sensor, o2 sensor problem either). I have 98K miles on my '99 and i bought it with 69K last year. I dont know if they've been changed previously or not, but i'd highly doubt a pre-69K mile coil pack replacement...

I think it's your fuel injectors that are ticking.
