and he has what pulleys? You see, I wont max out my system's power unless I goto a carshow. I might consider swapping pulleys right before a carshow..... I know it seems tedious... but its worth a try ya no??? Besides we can always rev the sh i t out of our cars when we are at carshows.

Does anyone have a stock pulley from their VQ lying around? I could paypal $$ to you if you could send it to an address for me. This would set up a prototype pulley to be sent to me for before/after dyno testing on a lightened crankshaft pulley.

Total price of the lightened pulleys may run around $125 from my source...I just want to get the prototyping done before I set up a group deal.

Let me know if you're interested in selling a stock VQ30 pulley.

He has the DMS UDP, its like 5 pounds less than stock, or something like that. I talked to him, he said I should have no problems. So I'm happy

Expect about 2fwhp with the lightened pulley. I've seen a few dynos in the past couple of weeks with the addition of the UDP and gains were in the 1-3fwhp range.

I'd definitely be interested if they end up around that price, I just don't have the money to be buying an UR one and even though my system isn't that big I don't like the idea of underdriving. I'm looking forward to hearing how this turns out.

No bills exept a cell phone every now and then. Im just trying to throw as many mods on my car as I can before i get into college and become poor and screwed.

Unfortunately I don't have the $$ to get this thing started. The GD price for about 10 people would be $100/each for an untested product. As DaveB explained, the gains would be about 2fwhp...

If any of you think we could get 10+ people for a GD then let me know and I will go ahead but the money would need to be up front since I am not rich.lol

(if anyone thinks my reputation is questionable then I will add that I am very well known on here as well as in DNE...I am VP of Public Relations in DNE and many of our members would vouch for me)

Can someone help me out with this though. IT's about installing the pulley, I have an auto and it requires you to lock the flywheel... I read greg's install writeup in the faq's but it doesnt say how to lock the flywheel. Do you just stick something in there to prevent it from spinning or what? I dont want to wreck the flywheel doing this.

Jeff, have you found a way to get a stock pulley out to them to use to design a pulley?

I have some people that have an extra stock pulley that would sell to me. The stock pulley isn't a problem...

It isn't DMS...it is a company called Perrin Performance. Jeff Perrin is the owner.

^ Well like I said I won't be dealing this through since we would need 10 people for the GD with money up front. In other words, Perrin wants $1000 for the project...this would include 10 lightened pulleys with that price. (comes out to $100 per pulley)

They are located in Oregon...we are talking about a 2 week time for them to have all pulleys shipped out, iirc.

I'll start a GD on these then. I think I can get 3-4 people in DNE alone on these pulleys...maybe other .org'ers would like to join in.

^^A killer system...I don't know what they would consider. It's a pretty generic term. In my opinion anything above stock is going to stress the alternator/battery. I would think that alternators come from the factory with enough amperage to handle what is on the car 'stock' and maybe a little more just in case.

That is only my opinion though...please don't take that as fact.

but truly the question is if the pulley is lightened and not underdriven what benefits do we get? I know 1 to 2 hp but would we go throught the revs quicker?

I don't think the revs would fall off as noticeably as a lightened flywheel would.
