DAM BS Keyless remote!!!! please someone help

So I bought this remote on ebay, looks like the 95 version but a bit cleaner, I tried following the steps provided on the forum, with no luck. I emailed the guy telling him about it, and he said all remotes are checked and work and blah balh, to check with my dealership to see if the remote would work with my car. Its fuxking BS, its not a new 99-up remote it looks like a 95, (three basic buttons trunk, unlock, lock,) I swapped out the battery, did the lock the car procedure, finger the keyhole w/ key, put the car in ACC, press lock on the remote, I didnt get the flashin hazards. What else can it be???? Is the guy lieing to me??? THanks peace

you have a 95 right? why would you want a 99+ remote if only 95-99 remote will work?

There are no other ones except the 3 button ones. I have 2 extra ones and both programmed. The 99 has the same 3 button as the previous years. No others can be programmed by you to work with the stock alarm.

Why can't you use it? Does it have a battery in it? How many times did you try programming it? It took me 2 or 3 times to do the first one cause the instructions aren't that great.

Yeah, I replaced the battery with a new one, and right size/model, I followed the instructions, I lock the doors, do the in and out thing with the key, hazards come on, tunr key to ACC postion, and then press lock on the remote. (I'm suppose to get the hazard lights again. but I dont) Am I missing anything???

Did you lock all the doors with the one switch on the driver door? Make sure you don't turn the key to the on position onstead of the ACC. On is where the key stops right before the engine turns on. ACC is right after off. Don't know what else it could be.

yeah, I used both the switch on the panel, and the the door handle switch, ACC is right after you barely turn on the car, only your radio will turn on, after that turn alittle more and the , ac/radio, and your oil light, air bar, etc. lights come on. then after the full twist, the car starts.

There is no way you can program this remote to work with your 95 max. The remote you got is for 98-01 Altima.

It doesn't sound like you have a 4th gen remote since as far as I know, all 4th gen remotes have 4 buttons. Max99ES is probably right.

1st gray one on the top half circle = lock
2nd = Unlock
3rd = Trunk
4th = Panic OR room lamp toggle

(If your 4th is a room lamp toggle, the 1st lock doubles as a panic when held down for about 2 seconds)

I've got one of each for my 1995 Maxima, they both work differently depending on which remote I have:

4th button that activates panic:

4th button that toggles room lamp (1st main button doubles as panic):

Here's an Altima remote (prior to 2002) that has 3 buttons only:

Does anybody sell those things new? Or can one only get one off eBay? I bought mine used from a dealership and I got 1 key and that's it. No spare key or remote..it sucks.

www.ebaymotors.com

Under parts and accessories

search for maxima remote

Abt $20+ will get it to your door shipped, for a used one.

You can buy it used from eBay or new from the dealer (atleast $60+ for each), but make sure you can use it on your GXE. Do you have the little flashing security light next to the cruise control switch?

I think on the GXE you had to buy the Convenience package or something. You can always add a good aftermarket one
