Power Slot Rotor question

I'm due for a complete brake job and I know I have to change my rotors quite soon as well. Do anyone of you have the Power Slot rotors on your car? Any signs of rusting or corrosion? I saw that Custom Maxima sells them but I want to get some personal reviews before I decide to buy them. Pics would be great too!

Oh. I can show you pics of mine after just one year. You wont like it though. The fronts are cracking near the cross drills. I will never again do cross drilled rotors. I will do slotted, but not cross drilled. I would suggest Matt's Big brake kit. He is working on a kit for use with stock calipers. Your only problem might be rim size. If you can't do that, I would do regular slotted rotors. Not cross drilled. Just a sec, and I'll go take some pics right now.

Not only do the powerslots look like this after only one year, but the initial bite is crap due to the lower surface area, and it requires much much more pedal to stop the car. You literally have to stand on the brake pedal if you want to stop in any sudden emergency braking situation. I hated them, I will always hate them, and unless you are running a 4 piston caliper or larger to apply more pressure and are using them in a race setting, I would never get them again. IMHO, Definately not worth the money. Get stock replacement rotors, or just slotted rotors.

he was asking about the power slot rotors, they are only slotted, not drilled.

I'm interested in what people are running for brakes as well. I'll probably need a brake job sooner than later and want to do soemthing aftermarket. I know different pads with stock rotors will tend to squeak, but I'm pretty sure there's a combination of rotors and pads that will provide better performance than stock and not squeak...I'll ahve to search and see if I can find it.

All drilling and/or slotting does is create an unever rotor surface. Which leads to increased pad wear, and cracking/failure.

Save your money, get some aftermarket blank rotors

thanks for all the replies. I know that drilled rotors tend to cause problems with cracking and wearing down the pads faster. Will the slotted rotors also cause the pads to wear faster? If so, i'm going to take mitch33x's advice and just get some brembo blanks most likely. Which brake pads should I incorporate with my new rotors? I've heard Axxis and Hawk pads are good. Which do you guys have on your ride and do you recommend them?

I installed the sloted Power Slot rotors (without drilled holes) along with four new rebuilt caliipers and Hawk front pads. I think the silver coating is misleading. The brakes pads wear it off like in a day and the surface rusts (like any other rotor does). The coating on the non abrasive surface has held the coating though (so far). To me it sounds like the slots make whirling sounds while driving (w/o applying brakes). The performance is pretty good, better than stock. If I had to do it again I would get non-slotted and put hawk pads in the calipers.
