increased gas mileage after replacing knock sensor?

are the claims accurate or is it usually wishful thinking and exaggerations? My knock sensor is definitely busted (did the ohm-meter test) and I get 20/21 mpg usually (50/50 city/highway). would it be reasonable to expect it to climb up to 24 or even 26-27mpg once I replace the knock sensor, if I drove it the same way? thanks!

I get 24+ on hwy/city. You do get better MPG with new knock sensor.
