airbag light keeps flashing?

airbag light keeps flashing?

Can anyone tell me why all of sudden my airbag light keeps flashing and will not stop? How can I fix this problem?

I took mine into the dealer and they reset it for free.

How did you get them to do that? Two dealers I have been to have told me $100 bucks!

There are reset procedures you can try on your own. I dont know them exactly but it has to do with turning your car to on position, then pushing the drivers door closed sensor (you know, the one that makes the dome light go on and off). you push it at least 5 times in 7 seconds, then turn the car off and turn it back on (start it).
I've never done it and I cant say i remember the procedure correctly. They are here on the org somewhere

I cant understand how they would charge you 100 bucks. The dealer guy spent at the most 3 minutes to walk out to my car. plug in the computer, push some buttons and walk back to the shop. IF they want to charge 100 bucks for 3-5 minutes of service then that sucks.

Not sure about Max, but I had the same problem with my I30. I called Infiniti consumer service and was confirmed that the airbag system is covered under POWERTRAIN, which is 6yrs and 60k or 70k miles (don't quote me on the exact year or milage). Basically I got mine fixed for free (malfunction sensor) and a loaner G35 for the day hehe... benefit of owning Infiniti!!

Check ur warrenty.
