I'm posting this for a buddy of mine who is having a little trouble.

He checked to see what his ecu was telling him with an ECU check. He said he followed all of the instructions in the sticky and he got 0505... which apparently isn't really anything. After he reset it, the idle has dropped from the normal 700rpm to 250-500rpm. Also the engine apparently is shaking and slightly tapping because of the low idle.

I'm thinking he might have accidentally reset the idle somehow, but I really don't know. Any insight would be really appreciated.

Try reseting it again...Give it a few weeks for the ecu to learn again. It shouldnt effect your idle though.

 

He just probab;y didn't turn the screw all the way back to the left. this causes those symptoms.

Check that the screw on the ECU is turned all the way counterclockwisely BUT WITHOUT FORCING IT!!!!

 

yeah, what Max_PR said. fix the screw. it's not turned in the right direction. when the car is started while still is diagnostic mode, the car idles really low like that.
