First get a tranny cooler....Hayden is a good choice. Either way you will need one. A VB mod with a drop resistor is kinda redundant. The VB mod will quicken the shifts....there are 3 stages available i think. VB's are well worth the money. It changes the solenoids, firmer springs i think, and you will have a more reliable and faster shifting tranny...since there will be less clutch slip. The drop resistor mod is like a cheap VB mod. It increaes the line pressure of the tranny to full line pressure. Some say its the same as WOT pressure, but it isn't IMO. My DR mod felt just like a friends VB mod, he has stage 2 I believe. A DR is not to be used during normal driving. The shifts can sometimes fell like a bang, like hitting a pothole or poping a clutch in a manual tranny. Not good for everyday driving.

Anyone who is mechanically inclined could do it. In reality its just a few simple steps, drain the tranny fluid, unbolt the tranny pan, unbolt the VB, and reinstall everything, and add tranny fluid. So yes your local mech should be able to do it....weather he will or not is the key. It should go fine as long as the person doing it keeps everything compleatly clean. Just dont forget the cooler.

go to your local auto tranny specialist shop. they should be able to do the VB mod. i talked to this guy that works at one.. he did one on his Quest van. he says that you dont need to change the solenoids.. its jus a few drilled holes and springs. he said he can make 1-2 chirp and 2-3 and 3-4 firmer shifts. but if you race guys wanna make it hard all around then go wit the stage 3 VB mod. jus not for me. he said hte car will drive like normal when not WOT. i think i may do that. does anyone know where the post for the DR mod is? i just wanna know.
