I need to get alignment soon. My strut bearings are also bad. Do I need to replace the strut bearings before alignment? Does this 2 things relate each other?

You don't have too, but why would you get an allignment when you know parts of your suspension are messed?

that's my point. would it be useless to do the alignment knowing that the strut bearings making sound everytime I turn the wheels?

yeah, also I don't think strut bearings are expensive, it's just the hassle.

The strut bearings just allow for smoother rotation of the struts and has nothing to do with the alignment. The struts are still bolted in place and will not move.

The things you should check are the ball joints and tie rods.

It could depend how bad the bearings are. If one side is shredded/disinegrated then the shalf will lean slightly and that would affect the align readings.

If it were me I'd get in there and replace the bearings, inspect the strut mount, bushings, bumpstops, etc. The alignment won't mean much if everything wobbles around when pushed anyway. Take it from me. I've had 12+ alignments and continue doing about 2-3/yr.

P.S. Trying to decide if it's worth $500 to build custom mounts/plates. You know, metal bearings, something better quality than the Stillen plates I already have
