bad water spots won't come off

i have tried several techniques found in the tips and tricks FAQ, polishing, rainx, steel wool (0000), and nothing is working. the spots are very bad on the side windows and pretty bad on the windshield. anybody have something else for me to try? products, techniques, i will try whatever really does work. dirty windows are my pet peave, and i have lasted as long as i think i can. thanks.

the guys over in the detailing forum will know... i use "invisible glass" for my windows and it gets everything off... including the bad waterspots

i've used vinegar and water (no pun intended) and it works good. also, get some generic glass cleaner from advanced auto, autozone, etc. it works real good and gives off a good shine. good luck
