ABS problem on 97 SE
My brother, who also is the proud owner of a Maxima, told me yesterday his ABS light came on. As he parked the car and turned the engine off, he could hear a hum or buzz from the front passenger side of the engine bay. I got to looking at locations of ABS components and it looks like the relay is the only thing on that side. I believe the actuator is on the driver's side. Is that correct? Anyway, he said he tapped whatever was making the buzzing noise and the noise stopped. Sounds like a stuck solenoid or something like that to me. I don't have ABS on my Max so I have never had to worry about it. Do you any of you have some advice.
I checked the FSM and it seems like all of the procedures for troubleshooting the ABS system involve using a Nissan plug-in diagnostic tool which I don't have. It appears different from the OBDII scan tool I have.
Any ideas? Thanks.
Aaron
