play in accelerator pedal?

I've noticed that there is about a 1/4 inch of play in the accelerator before it starts pulling the cable. The slack isn't in the cable, but at the top of the pedal arm. Is this normal, or should I adjust it so it pulls at the first movement of the pedal?

its easy:
go under your hood, and look in the center (I'll take pictures if I get around to it), there you should see two metal cables ending in two circular pulley type things, with two 14mm nuts holding each wire it in place. This is the throttle adjuster. One is for the cruise control, the other for your gas pedal. Loosen the two 14mm nuts on each one, and pull the cable so it is taught, then retighten each nut down to hold it in place. Be sure to not pull too tightly, or else it will always be giving it too much gas, and your RPM's will climb (possibly quite high). If this happens, just loosen them a little. This will get rid of all the play in your pedal.

I don't really know what I was talking about, hehe but Chickan, that worked. It's 50 times better now. Thanks for the help.
