post y-pipe install problem

hey guys i just did a bunch of mods to my car and i will post those pics later but i was wondering about the green ground wire that runs from the cat bolt to the bolt that is on the hanger that holds the cat and y-pipe together. I had to cut mine during my y-pipe install and i was wondering how important that wire is to keping every things grounded. also if i need to replace it wat would be the best way to do it? I asked the guys at my nissan stealership and they didnt have a clue as to wat grounding wire i was talking about and they said it was probally something that was added onto the car after it left the factory but before it went to the dealership. I'm still not sure if i need to replace it and if i do i was thinking about using amp wire and two o rings to replace the ground wire i cut.
If u guys have any ideas please post them.
Will

Don't go to that dealership again. I have it too, or at least I used too. I haven't noticed it the last few times I was under. Mybe that's why my headlights dim every time I roll my windows up or down? If you have some of the old one still ON the car, just solder on a new wire and ring and put it back on.

i really hate the dealership.. the wanted 79 bucks to lossen 2 bolts on the car to put the new hanger on!! I would have done it myself if it wasnt snowing where i am. The only reason i was worried about was because the service guys at the dealership told me that my car may catch on fire or something at a gas station?

Funny you mentioned that braided cable....I threw my car up on jackstands 2 nights ago to change my oil and do a lil inspectin on the underside of my car and I noticed that the same cable has been broken on my car. who knows how long it was broken for but I haven't noticed any problems related to it. I'm gonna fix it when my warpspeed Y comes in a few days....speaking of which, who wrote that write up on the warp. Y installation? I'm trying to figure if its worth it to bolt it up to the rusty falling apart oem exhaust.
