Key fob question
Key fob question
I'm looking at possibly purchasing a '98 Maxima w/ 49k miles. I'm a little new to the nitty gritty details of these cars so I thought I'd throw this question at you guys...
This car is not an SE or GLE so I'm assuming that makes it a GXE. It does not have the Bose radio
but it does have ABS. The dealer said they don't have key fobs. It seems funny to me that there would be ABS but no fobs. I downloaded the owners manual and it implied that they were an option on this car (surprised me). Question is, can I just buy (EBay maybe) 1 or 2 used Nissan Maxima key fobs and then program them to the car? Or, is there a controller that likely isn't there and I'd need to get a keyless entry kit and put it in? I've done that before... but it'd be easier to scope out used Nissan fobs.
Thanks in advance!

If the car wasnt programmed to have keyless entry to begin with, you cant just buy a key fob.
How do you know its not a GLE/SE, just because it doesnt have bose? And BOSE sucks BTW. My SE came without Bose, climate control, or leather.
