CAI to Hybrid conversion

I just ordered a CAI after much thought and comparrison among the various intakes. My Q is wouldnt it be easy to change from a CAI to a Hybrid by taking off the long bent tube and mounting the filter right after the MAF? Has anyone done this on their CAI? Have you noticed a diff??

yeap i've done it.

power difference: CAI had better low-mid end, hybrid have better mid-top end.
sound differnece: CAI is more "blaaaaahy", hybrid is more "brroooomy"
throttle response difference: CAI throttle response is very laggy, hybrid throttle response is quicker

see page 2 on my cardomain. it has my 4 different intake setup in the last 1 year. hope that'll help.

p.s. i highly recommend swapping out the K&N filter with bigger JWT/stillen filter.
