Trouble with starting the MAX

For the past two months, I have had trouble starting the maxima. I have a 5spd 97 se. The trouble comes up when i try to start the car by pushing the clutch in. In order for the car to start, I have to not only push the clutch in hard but it feels like i have to smash that **** through the floor. If i don't push the clutch in enough, it makes a chuggg...chuggg sound and i'm afriad if i keep doing this it might **** up the starter.

I've had the starter replaced once before back in November. Can any body help me?

It seems to me that the only reason you have to push the clutch in at all in order to actually start the car is because of the pin switch it engages to ensure the car is in neutral (i.e. not in gear) when the car is started. Remote starts for manual transmissions always just bypass this switch.

Sounds to me like you're having hard starts in general. Hard starts can be many different things. I searched on this a while ago and found many people finding many things wrong. I forget what all this things were :lamer: but my eventual problem was that my injectors were clogged and my plugs were just plain dirty and in need of replacement. I could almost tell that it was fuel delivery ... but wierd enough it would go away for weeks at a time then come back all of a sudden.

Anyway ... if I'm not mistaken, you're looking at the wrong part. Maybe try and get a sound clip of one of these starts?
