Help with install

I have a 99 with the Bose system. I am ripping everything out. I bought some Quart rce216 comps, they are 6.5 which I thought was the size in the max, but now I look on crutchfield and it says 6 3/4. WTF? am I gonna be in trouble? I dont want to have to start with MDF spacers and the like. Will I be able to drop these into the pods? TIA This is also posted in the audio section.

I put 6-1/2" JL Audio's in my door panel's & crutchfield said the same thing 6-3/4". Put I didn't have to modify anything. The 6-1/2" speakers bolted right in. I think they actually fit better then the 6-3/4" speakers Crutchfield suggests. By the way I kept the stock head unit so that when someone looks in the car, my system looks stock. & I placed a EQ in the little pocket just below the factory radio. Works nicely, not hissing or anything like that. If you decide to go that route?

6.5 and 6 3/4 both fit without any real issues. Mine are 6 3/4s with no problems at all

Okay- I was just thinking that there are only 4 screw holes on the plastic pods- so they (6.5) need to match up perfectly. Thanks! :-)
