Help MEVI doesn't work anymore!!!
Please help me, I just put on a different muffler and while I was driving I noticed my variable Intake doesn't work. I reset the ECU, checked everything I knew to, and checked all the fueses. I don't know what to do. Could the RPM switch be messed up? I don't use it alot but now that it is messed up I feel like not even driving. How bad will this affect my 1/4 times, but thats the least I am worried about. Any help would be appreciated.

I30tMikeD: I know for a fact that is a harlem RPM switch but I am not sure about the vacume canister. The guy who sold the car to me put it on there. It was working fine yesterday afternoon, but what did you do to help it?

do you know how the VI is wired and how it works? I hope you do, because it will be harder for you to fix if you don't.
First check the harlan. Go for a drive trying to activate the VI a few times. Stop the car but do not turn it off. Look at the harlan rpm switch, if the red light is blinking then you harlan is acting up.
If it's not the harlan it could be the vaccume canister. Many guys use a Napa canister, which is a 8 or 9 inch black plastic tube with one vacuum hose going in one end and one going out the other. It should be somwhere under the hood and it's pretty obvious that it's not an OE part.
You could also check the source from where the harlan and solenoid get power. I get mine from the cig ligher fuse, so if my fuse was blown my VI would not work.
Check the harlan, check the power source. If it's not those then see what type of vacuum canister you are using.

I tried to reset the RPM at which it activates, but the light did not blink. Will it not blink when you try to reset it if the switch is messed up? And a power source he told me about when he sold it to me was that he put a switch in the fuse box to the left of the steering wheel and he said when the light did not come on just to flip the switch. So would that be the power source you think? The vaccume canister is round about 4 inches in diameter and it is about 6 inches long.

Yes, the harlan should blink at you when pressing the white buttons. If it's not, then it does not have power.
I don't know what "switch" your refering to for power, but did you even look at the fuse box? Chances are that it's either run of the cig fuse or the battery.
Check the cig fuse to see if there is a wire sticking in there. If not, then check to see if the harlan is wired to the battery.
When you tried to set the rpm's on the harlan did you have the key in and turned to on?

Well i found out the problem. The switch
That is the switch I was talking about. It turns on and off the RPM switch. He did not solder the wires to where they go on the switch, he just taped them. So I just pressed the wires down and that seemed to work. I am so glad it wasn't something else. Thanks for your help.
