Programming Keyless Enty Remote

I recently purchased a 1996 Nissan Maxima GLE but it didn't come with the Remote Keyless Entry. I purchased one off of Ebay with the matching numbers and I was told it was very easy to program. Does anybody have a set of directions to perform the programming? Thanks in advance.

1. sit inside the driver's seat.
2. close and lock all doors.
3. In TEN seconds, insert and remove the key 6 times. DON'T RUSH. You will see your hazards blink twice.
4. turn the key to ACC position and press a button on your remote. If you see your hazards blink twice again, you're all set. If not, new batteries or something else.

Don't you need to hook up a fuse/chip for it to work?

you have to put it in and out completely so you should try again, it's possible your car didn't come with it but since you have a GLE thats unlikely. Just try to put it in completely and out completely 6 times in 10 seconds if it doesn't flash and you're positive you did everythign right you probably don't have it

Do as follows
1) With battry removed , press lock key on remote, this will clear id from unit
2) now install battry
3) Follow as described by DaBombX
4) If it still does not work than probably you have reached maximum limit of 4 remotes in ECM, You can take the car to dealer and get ECM reset
5) Or you possibly have bad remote.

afterwards you want to try and unlock the doors with your remote. i did this in my GXE and it worked perfectly, down to the automatic windows. (if you press, release and then hold down the unlock button, for about 3-4 seconds, your windows on your drivers and passenger sides will move down slightly enough to have a crack, if you repeat this process the windows will move down even wider.) i did this at 3 AM yesterday and i thought it was the coolest thing in the world, lol.

bring it back from the dead. atleast i searched! ! !

i recently bought a 96 se which has the keyless entry(tried the key thing, 6 times in and out and the hazards blinked).

i have two spare OEM Infiniti remotes laying around from my I30. The I30 now has an aftermarket alarm so the OEM remotes are no longer needed.

The question here is can I use the Infiniti remotes with the Max? I tried clearing the codes on thee remotes by removing the battery and pressing the lock button as mentioned above. i then put the battery back in and went outside and pressed the unlock button and its still unlocking the Infiniti. Is there a way i can completely reset the codes so it doesnt unlock the Infiniti or do I have to go out and buy actual Nissan remotes?

****forgot to mention that the remotes are from a 2000 I30****
