Absolutely confused about catbacks...HELP

OK, I'm searching for a catback for my '97 GXE. I had almost decided on the Frankencar catback, but I just went there and I noticed that it said for 1999.5-2003 only! I didn't see that the first time. I just clicked on my year max under the products and there it was. I guess I'm not getting that one.

My Plan B is the Apexi WS. But, then I go to redlinemax and look at their page and it says that the Apexi WS is only for 95-96. I went on some other sites that sell them and it says 94-96 Is the part number 104-KN03? I also went to maxmods and that site says that the Apexi can be MADE to fit a 97. Now what the hell does that mean?

Please help!

Thanks,
drew

WS needs to be modified to fit a 97+. It needs a hole for the rear o2 sensor and it needs to be extended by an inch or so, so it won't burn your bumper.

So, short of having a welding machine... Basically, I'd have to take it to a muffler shop?

If I just got the WSP B-pipe and say a Magnaflo muffler from SWA, would I be able to do the install myself? (trying to save some money here)

Also, on WSP's site, next the the b-pipe listing it says for center or stock. Will any aftermarket muffler have an inlet in the center?

Thanks a bunch,
drew

Unless you get a complete cat-back you will have to have the muffler welded on. The WS is an offset inlet and center outlet.

Save your money.
Go to a local muffler shop.
Get a custom 2.5" b-pipe. ($50)
Keep stock resonator.
Keep stock muffler or get a new one.
You are done.
