Just installed frankencar a few ???s

Install wasn't too bad considering I've never done anything to a car other than change the oil and install a strut bar. Took about 2 hours for me and my friend doing everything slowly and carefully. The sound is great but is it normal for it to sound a little raspy up top towards redline? I also noticed a slight hissing sound at idle. The last thing is when I first started it idled high around 1200 rpm and then slowly dropped instead of dropping right away. I remember hearing something about the idle but I don't remember exactly and nothing came up when I searched. Other than that the cars seems slightly stronger up top.

Did you reset your ECU? I don't know if you really need to, but I did. Basically anytime I mess with any sensors, I just reset the ECU afterwards. The whistle and the raspyness are normal... get used to it!!!

It took you 2 HOURS!!! With help!!!

No just kidding... it took me about three by myself first time just because I didn't want to fudge anything up. I just took the whole intake off today, cleaned it, and reinstalled it under 30 mins. Pretty good I must say...

But enough of me flattering myself. With the frankencar, I'm assuming you have the Apexi filter because I dont think the K&Ns whistle. You can tell when you need to remove the filter and blow it out because the whistle will go away. I was wondering why my whistle went away, and come to find out it was dirty. I just took the air compressor (on low setting of course ) and blew it off. Now I have my 'cool' whistle back

Have fun with your new toy!

I'm not complaining about the whistle. In fact it sounds kind of cool. Just wanted to make sure I didn't leave something too lose or something. I do have the K&N though. Everything seems fine though so I'm sure its nothing. No CEL or anything

Just sounds like you are a little too uneasy about doing engine performance mods. I was too at first, but now that I have confidence in my work, I'm taking on bigger mods ie. full exhaust

Have fun
