Idler/Tensionor Pully Culprit, bad bearings.

I finally found out what my whining noise is, its the idler/tensionor pully thats messed up... Now its started to clank/grind along with teh whine, ive confirmed it by putting a screwdriver to it and it vibrates so much the screwdriver cant even stay still on it.

Anyways, as you know its the weekend and I cant get the pulley any time soon so I was wondering what happends to those things once they get screwed up? is all they do is making noise or will it get stuck and rip my belts to shreds or what...

I have things/places to go in the next few days so I dont see that problem getting fixed till at least wednesday or as soon as the part arrives.

What do the fellow org'ers think.

I have never heard about it locking up butit is feasible i guess. Thats odd that you had to wait for the part. My local dealer had it in stock. Are you trying to get it cheaper. FYI, its not hard at all to replace. Three bolts and your done. 1/2 hour if your quick.

I think mine only cost about $30 and its very easy to install. Like broaner22 said, about 1/2 hour to install. Personally, I hadn't even looked at it before and it only took me that long. But, I got mine from aaanissanparts.com, great ppl to deal with. They're out in AZ, so you might look elsewhere if you need somewhere closer for faster shipping.

Good luck
