1.7 & 1.5 to low?

Found some progress springs that are 1.7 in the front and 1.5 in the rear for 172, I'm on stock 16"s right now but will probably get larger wheels in the future. Anyone have experience with these springs or these drop measurements?

Thanks in advance.

thats what most kits drop you down too thats perfect because the back tends to set a little lower than the front anyway. BTW those are good springs

Thanks for the info, reason I asked is because most of the kits that I had been seeing were 1.5 front and 1.3 rear...I'm gonna go with those springs now I Just need to find a decent deal on shocks found some KYB AGX for 420 which puts it right at the tokico/spring deal on custom maxima...cept these springs are better and this is free shipping. Decisions decisions :P

There's a Deal in the GD forum (not really a GD) for illumina's for $425. There was also a real GD for agx's but I don't know if it's still going on.

Is it considered a fact that the Progress springs are better than the Tokicos? I have heard very good things about both. I, personally, have the Tokicos and am very happy.
I beleive it is the general consensus that Illuminas are better than the AGX. Certainly more comfortable, especially in cold weather. I think the Progress and Tokico springs would both do you well, but I'd opt for the Illuminas over the AGXs. I beleive you can get the Illuminas for about the same price as you found the AGXs.
Either way you go with the springs, you're going to enjoy it. It totally changes the car. Handles great, and feals much more stable at speed. Enjoy.

S-techs

I just bought Tein S-Tech springs that are supposed to drop it 2.2 in the front and 1.8 in the back. I bought um for $175 shipped after some looking. Might be worth considering, ive heard good things about them.

Just remember your front end being lower. I scraped my front bumper on a curb the other day with my 2" drop. That was one of the worst sounds I've ever heard. And I just got the front end repainted about a month ago too

i haven't scraped anything with 1.5" and 1.3" maxspeed drop. i still have a good 3 fingers gap. and no one can really tell my car is lowered.

but it's all good, i don't mind. my car's body roll decreased, and that's all i need.

group deal that people were talking about for the AGX's is still going on. It is till the middle of June or so. You can get some for $370, which is a heck of a deal.
If you don't plan on adjusting them, you could always just get the non-adjustable GR2's. They are only like $230

I'm very happy with my Progress/Illumina setup. I've got a body kit and it only scrapes every now and then.

you make it sound as if it is no big deal for it to scrape. If I had a body kit, I would hate to hear it scrape.
The roads are too bad here to warrant getting a body kit though.

When your front lip is only a few inches off the ground the scraping noise is something you learn to live with. I can't imagine MS roads are any worse then NJ, but it's not the roads that get ya... it's steep driveways. If you've got time and space you can take it slow and not scrape, but when you're packed in traffic you don't always have that luxury. But it really isn't that big of a deal because the lip is polyurethane and only the bottom loses any paint. I've yet to scrape the sides or rear.

Try the roads in NY especially in Brooklyn and Queens.... Forget about the city. There is a pothole every 5 feet. As for lowering the car, its worth it. You just have to drive a little more carefully especially if you have 18's or +
