Entering my first car show!!!
Hello everyone, I will be participating in my first ever car show this Saturday. I was wondering if any of you guys out there have and tips or advice for a noob entering his first car show? Like for example, should I type up a list of my mods and paste it on the window or windshield or what? Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance

Just be loose man. I was in my first show last summer and I had stock rims with very minimal mods. I didn't expect to win anything but it was a fun event. When I go this year I hope to get 2nd or 3rd Nissan or Sedan based on last years competition. If you actually want to win something I would suggest writing up a list. Make it look good and laminate it or put it in a plastic stand up case under one of your wheels or something. Also, on that plastic piece(could be plexiglass) I would suggest attaching all company stickers that you've recieved with your mods.

1. Clean and detail any and every part of your car cleanliness is the biggest thing at shows. (No trash, leaves or pine needles in the wiper cowl area).
2. Car shows have two audiences 1.The judge(s) for about 5-10 mins looking at and scoring your car, tell them about your car anything to help them understand the cars history, daily driven, if you do the mods your self, etc, etc.
2. Then there are people who come to the show the “crowds” of people. To recognize your car and work.
3. Show your entire car open up the hood, doors and trunk.
4. Having a mod sheet and car stats is good to have I make one for each show and is it up to date w/what I have I the car at the moment and I use some picture frames and set in front of my car.
5. Put a nice coat of armoral on the side wall and the tire tread so the tires are nice and black and shiny.
6. Take a cleaning supply bag w/any cleaning stuff in it so when you get to the show you have stuff do any last minute wiping down or cleaning.
7. Let your seats back and have them even both driver and passenger, don’t have any paper, trash etc, showing or laying around in the car. Turn your steering wheel straight.
8. Watch for kids and people wanting to touch and sit in your car.
9. Be polite as possible about questions and be as knowledgeable about your car because you never know what questions you might get asked.
10. Pick a good parking spot and park straight, watch for trees, ant beds etc, etc.

Good luck man. I've entered a couple. got my first trophy last summer. Best suggestion is make sure your car is clean. I mean like brand new, sitting in the show room, clean. Wipe down your door jams, clean the engine till it's spotless, clean the trunk. Also, I've seen others make up a photo collage with pics from before and after doing mods. This can be a useful tool to cover up that scratch in the bumper, or any low blemish. Good luck!

Thanks for all the replies! I spent all day today cleaning my car. After I got done I decided to call my friend and see if he got his car finished and ready for the show. Well I found out that my friend totalled his car today. So I dont know if I still want to go. Anyways, the only exterior mods I have are clear bumper lights and red/clear tails. But hey I have a red Maxima so that has to be worth something The other mods I have are custommaxima FSB, polished battery tie down, Frankencar intake with apexi dry filter, nismo oil and radiator caps, cattman y-pipe, triple gauge pod, redlinegoods ebrake boot and armrest covers, and a few other small things here and there. I am hoping to win best looking engine and best under construction. To answer you question takentomax, this show is open to everyone so to enter you only have to pay a small fee. Well atleast the feeling in my arms is starting to come back! Anyways wish me luck, and hopefully things will be back to normal around here. If I do decide to go ill post my result here and let you guys know how I did.
