Hey guys, you know how there is a rubber hose coming from the transmission on the 5spd models, its seems to be an overflow/overheat hose to empty some oil in case of issues, I guess. Well, I changed my oil lately and now there is some oil that came out from there, enough to dampen the intake tube under it considerably. Should I be concerned or is this just to tell me I overfilled it ?

well check your dip stick if it is way to high drain some oil out the bottom

 

There is not dipstick on the 5spd, you have to put your finger throught the hole. That was not really my question though... I more or less wanted to know what that tube was for. I am not really concerned with the oil if its an overflow and it was overfilled... I just wanna make sure this is the purpose of this hose.

that tube is the breather for the trans. As the gears mesh it pumps and sucks a tiny bit of air, and if not releved could put stress on the seals and cause a leak. if its overfilled its possible that it could be pumping your trans oil instead of that tiny bit of air.
