Bearcats

I have been reading some threads recently regarding Intakes and Y-Pipes. Everybody seems to have them and love them. I've done searches, but my problem is this...what exactly do they do? Which is the first mod people usually get? Thanks in advance.

both let the car breath easier. the y-pipe does a great job because the oem pipe is smaller and does not let air flow out easily due to bends that restrict air movement. an aftermarket y-pipe lets the air flow out smoother, higher veocity of exiting air. the intake accomodates the y-pipe by letting the engine suck in more air. i have neither and i am wanting both. sadly, im broke but i plan on doing BrainV's intake mod tomorrow. o yeah, dont quote me on anything but im sure im right. feel free to correct me.

Actually, what the aftermarket y-pipe does is two things
1, it eliminates two very restrictive precats located in the stock y-pipe and 2, it drops 11lbs off dead weight.

If you have the money....Get the Y-pipe.. Most ppl say You'll feel the difference. The intake doesn't do much except for that deep tone sound.
