Exhaust Info/Suggestions

I am in the process of purchasing a budget y-pipe. I am also interested in possibly buying a new cat to install at the same time. I was looking at the Random Technology High Flow cat. Any reviews on this combination? Any other suggestions for a cat to go along with the budget Y? Best places to buy the cat would be appreciated also.
Lastly, the how to link on how to install a Random Tech Cat does not seem to be working. Any place else on where to get this info? Will I need new bolts etc?

Thanks in advance,

MM

Save your money and keep the stock cat.

If I had to replace the cat because it was too rusted etc. what would be the best to replace with price taken into consideration?

Thanks!

If it really needs to be replaced then I would either go with a car-sound cat or a test pipe. Of course I would not spend the hundreds of $$ on a OEM cat. I have read many, many posts about the Random Tech cat falling apart. But I have only heard a couple bad things about the car-sound cat, and it's much less expensive than the Random Tech. I know warpspeed has the car-sound for pretty cheap.

If you don't have strict smog laws where your at then a test-pipe would be a cheap alternative.

I think Warpspeed sells the car-sound for like $85 or a little more.

I would recommend to keep the stock cat too. I did this, and it is fine. No need to replace unless rusted out and falling off.

Also, just custom build some exhaust piping. Take your max to a muffler shop and ask them to custom bend you some piping for the b-pipe, and you can just use your stock muffler. They are pretty good as far as the output goes. You should be able to do this for like $50 or so. I did.
