5th gen head/intake ofn 4th gen

It seems that motors are pretty cheap to come by these days, (under $1000). I am thinking of pulling the heads and intake off a 4th gen and moutning them on a 5th gen motor. This would give me the true dual runner design the mevi lacks. All said and doen it would cost me a little more than a mevi and would yield better results. Can anyone tell me if every thing will line up and/if it is possible to do?

Why would you have problems mounting 5th gen heads and intake on a 5th gen engine? I didn't expect such a newbie question from you man.

There's a couple threads about this, both are VERY extensive.

I'm going to guess that the second 5th gen was supposed to be a 4th gen.

Typed it wrong
<------ no newb here

what I am trying to do is mnount the 5th gen top end onto a 4th gen engine. I first looked to moutn the intake manifold first to obtain the dual runner design, but someone told me the ports for the heads will not line up, so maybe the heads will bolt to the bolck?

You know that's what I meant. Like I said look for the 2 HUGE threads about it and you'll see all the problems associated with it.

The heads should bolt up to the block with NO PROBLEM, as I have personally seen a 4th gen and 5th gen motor torn apart. But the same question comes down, Why?

You are working so hard to do this to get so little HP from it. I have personally torn apart a motor while in the car (ie to replace the heads) and I would NEVER do it again. The only thing I had left in the engine bay when I was done tearing apart the motor to get to the heads was the lower block/pans/transmission. And re-installing everything (heads, inner/outer timing chain covers, cam sprockets/chains, etc) was a ROYAL PITA.

So from my personal experience, slap on the MEVI, get it working, and respect the "wanna-be" dual runner design lol.......
