Hey my buddy has a 96 automatic maxima. It has around 200k miles on it. The car runs great no problems except from a stop to go the car shakes forward and back. It happeneds when you start to let off the break and let the car go slowly with your foot stlil on the break. The car almost gallops but when u press the gas it all goes away. There also is a slight smell of exhaust fumes in the car from time to time (may not have any significance to the problem). Not sure if it is exhaust but that is the smell closest to describe it. I just need some idea what may be the problems because he is going to go to the dealer and i don't want him to get ripped off. Thanks for your help
