stock 4th Gen REAL whp?
I have a question for u guys. How much whp is a stock auto 4th gen maxima? I know Nissan claims 190 hp to the crank and 205 lb/ft torque. How much percentage of the horsepower to the crank is lost in the drivetrain on the way to the wheels? What is the average whp for a 4th gen auto w/ PR CAI, and WS y-pipe? How does a 5-speed 4th gen compare to the auto's numbers?

Thats a good question, I would estimate we put out about 165HP and 170TQ, +5HP/TQ for 5speeds. Anyone have any real numbers? Im probably going to get my stock auto with heavy SE 17's dynoed soon as my local shop just got a dyno. Im curious as to what im putting to the wheels.

You can approximate drivetrain loss on a stock Maxima. The following numbers assume a 15% drivetrain loss for 5spd and a 25% drivetrain loss for an auto:
5spd:
190hp * .85 = 161.5hp
205tq * .85 = 174.25tq
Auto:
190hp * .75 = 142.5hp
205tq * .75 = 153.75tq
5spd:
190hp * .85 = 161.5hp
205tq * .85 = 174.25tq
Auto:
190hp * .75 = 142.5hp
205tq * .75 = 153.75tq

He went from 160hp/178tq to 178hp/182tq. Doesn't sound like much, but there is a noticable difference throughout the spectrum; that's where it counts.
