to supercharge or not supercharge

I have a 97 5spd with mods and I'm at the point where i need to do something big. I was wondering if the JWT ECU upgrade can be used with the stillen supercharger setup. If not, would it be more worth it to get the JWT with the MEVI and have a higher redline or would boost alone be enough without raising RPM's? Any help would be great.

I would advise against running an upgraded ECU with any FI as you increase your chances of detonation doing so. I would look into a boost setup such as PFI if you need lots of power.

With N/A you're less likely to do big damage to your car. But the power of a SC or TC is incredible.

Don't use an upgraded ecu if you decide to boost.

If you don't boost go with the upgraded ECU/MEVI/JWT cams. That will be an awesome combo. And you can probably do all that for less than you would've to boost. Or you can leave out the cams and it will only about a thousand.

Just think of what you really want and go with it.

For me I think boosting is cool but it's just not my cup of tea. However, nothing sounds better than a BOV.
On the same note. Nothing feels better than beating a boosted car when your N/A.

You should super charge. It's easier and less hassle than turbo. You can run an up graded ecu with the charger you just have to send it back to jwt and have them revamp it agin. If you do go super charger I recomend that you do that and get the mevi. It will make you super charger even faster. Run an intercooler and bov and a smaller pully with the 7200 redline and mevi and you would never be able to tell the diffrence from a normal turbo aplication on the max. Of course if you went all out you could make more power from a turbo, but you can still make a ton from charger, reliably and safley.
