Suspension noise!

I have this noise coming from the rear of my car and it is driving me CRAZY!! It is coming from my suspension but I have no idea what it is. It is a clunking sound and it happens almost every time i make a turn and especially making a turn going up a slanted road. If I just push the rear of the car down it doesnt make the noise. Anyone have an idea what this could be?

There are a lot of recent threads on this topic so look through the first few pages on this forums. I could be a blown strut.

Are you absolutely positive it's coming from the back? I had almost the same problem and it was my right front axle. The boot was torn and could've been taked care of but I didn't know about it so eventually the joint wears down and then begins to damage the axle. The whole clunking is because the joint is dry and the suspension coil is snapping back into place since it cant move smoothly.

If you're sure it's the back then I'm not sure, but it might be something similar. It's just the whole turning thing that makes it seem like it's probably the front.

Good luck

Its not coming from the front cause the noise also sometimes occurs when I go over speed bumps and it when the rear wheels go over the speed bump.

possible problem:

1. blown strut. remove ur wheel and check for oil leackage.
2. bad strut bushings. http://forums.maxima.org/showthread....79#post2945079
3. shock mount is slanted. this was one of the problem i had with my tokico HP. the shock mount was slanted and causing it rubbing against the upper strut. making metal to metal contact.

while you have the wheel off, check the dust boot, they're notorius for goin bad and making that cluck-cluck sound. finger or screwdriver to see how loose they are, you probably can get thr sound if you push it up & drop it.
