Starter replacement

I need to replace my starter. My question is... can a regular do-it-yourselfer do this fix?
Will I need any special tools? thanks.

ya this is a 20 minute job, all you need to do is take off the intake piping and the starter holds on to bolts. only thing is you might scratch up your hands gettin the tools in there but it is a easy task.

man oh man, ive had to take out my starter 3 times in one month, i know how to do it. you take the whole air intake off a one thing. Everything including the thing in front and the back part, unlike what the maxima manual says, there is no need to remove the battery, but you do have to disconnect it.
You need a rachet, preferably also a breaker bar, two sockets (for the different sized bolts), a short extension, and a wrench to unscrew the electrical bolt on the starter. after you unscrew it, it should just come out, ask if you have any questions, ive gotten this starter thing down to a science.........:-)
