kyb mounts are POS
kyb mounts are POS
in 5 months ago i installed my new AGX along with new kyb strut mounts. control arms.sway bar urethane bushings new linksand outer and inner tie rods and took the car for aligment since day one i started to hear a noise whenever i a hit a bump or pothole but though is was normal but as months passed noise became louder someone from the org warned me about that kyb mounts where a pos(piece of sh*t in case you don't know) but i ignored him trusting the kyb brand but today i took the time to tear apart my front suspension and he was totally right when i looked the the driver side mount i saw the D shaped hole in the center was completly rounded so the shaft of the strut was rotating freely wich is not good the rubber inside the mount was way to soft causing unwanted upward travel the passenger side was a little bit better a least the center hole was ok but again the rubber was softer so i decided to reuse my old oem mounts(thank god i stored them im short on cash right now)and wow it is a different car now i dont hear thing i can go over bumps or even hiting potholes without hearing that noise that was driving me crazy and i notice the stering is a lot more responsive now that was another issue besides the noise my car pulled to either side and the stering was very lose so i hope this my be useful for a few people with same problem
thank you for sharing this information. in fact i just bought some rear KYB mounts. most people said the front ones of POS, but i haven't heard much from the rear. either way i am gonna use OEM mounts for the rear.
