During the course of my weekend long (dont laugh) excursion that was supposed to be as simple as installing a JWT Intake, one theme dominated throughout: Nissan bolts are crappy.

On almost every bolt with the exception of maybe 1, the bolt broke almost in half. All four bolts connecting the top half the air box have parts still stuck in the holes. Now during the course of this happening, i made sure i was turning the socket/wrench in the correct direction with little to no force applied.

I still have one bolt (with what I think is stripped or something) remaining from the bottom of the air box that is NOT coming out...i had to cut a little section out of the air box to free it.

All in all, ive come to realize that with all of my experience in installing car audio that something ALWAYS goes wrong, and even when I knew that installing an Intake was supposed to be cake, i should have known something would go wrong.

Like the Maxima spirits or something have a hex on my mods.

AHHHHHH

Someone made a comment on the double-post I deleted about the use of grease loosener or something to prevent the bolts from breaking.

I guess i didnt think to, the bolts seemed to be coming out easily, and then they would just snap.

But i do think im cursed or something. I try to be as careful as possible yet I break things almost everytime I touch my car.

A short list:

Countless numbers of those tabs that hold different things in place
Buff mark on the trim plate around the stereo
Broken bolts bolts and more bolts
Ash tray, um...sorta pops out now

I guess, i havent done ALL that much to my car, but just strange things seem to happen such as:

Tree falling on my hood
People opening their doors onto my car on the same day, on both sides, on all four doors.
Person sitting on my back bumper and cracking it in a mall parking lot
Lab TA pouring an unidentified acid on my trunk

sorry for the rant
